Something Useful

Published by gaiarady at 2:34 am under Uncategorized Edit This

To those in this world who are well-intentioned and honest, who do not succumb to self-pitying or to fanaticism, but who know they are not meant to be more than they are, who are at peace with their state of being and their life, and who do not fall prey to blind religious belief, to those who wish for some guidance as to how they can improve the world around them, I issue the following words:

Do not fall prey to ego, and do not succumb to feelings of self-pity for they lead to degeneration into vengefulness, to a sense of feeling hard-done by. Also, do not obsess over trivial slights of the past, nor over equally trivial gains, but rather assess each and every day as it occurs, with a keen inventory of your supplies and capabilities at hand, and achieve all that you can through work and dedication.

Do not waste yourself away indoors, confined by walls. You must find your way to nature, to fresh air and the outdoors. You must be creative, always with a mind to what it is that you ultimately wish to generate: a long and peaceful, productive lifetime of learning and evolving. You must be aware of your body, and care for your physical needs as well as maintain inner harmony and balance, keeping aware of your own capabilities and limits.

One can achieve a great deal more over a long span of time if they are careful and prudent with their available supplies, than if one rushes off to explore the world with nothing more than the clothes on ones back.

Be peaceful, but firm about the truth, and have no pretense of knowing more than you do if you do not fully understand the matters at hand. Most humans on Earth are simple-minded and young, as it were. It is not to be expected that they are born ready to comprehensively understand all manner of matters in a deep and meaningful way – but they can certainly learn, and if they are guided by the wise and they have trust in their authorities, then they may blossom and grow until they become teachers and masters in their own right.

So ask questions, but do not expect to have every answer presented on a golden platter. You must use your own mind, as well, and figure things out. You must learn to develop self-trust, which is different than the feeling of conceit that one must know the truth about all matters. You must be even-handed and fair in your dealings with others, you must be honourable. When you give gifts, never do so with the expectation of getting something in return, because that’s not a gift, it’s barter.

Do not throw pearls to swine.

Remember that you are what you eat, so do not eat animals that have led tortured, unnatural lives. Do not eat creatures which have been pumped with antibiotics, which have been locked away in cages and pens, which have never led a natural life at pasture. These are unhealthy animals, and psychologically tortured, as well as led to violent, inhumane deaths by the billions year after year to feed the gluttony of the masses. Do not be one of those who feeds on such flesh.

Remember that fresh foods are always preferable, especially during summer and autumn harvest times. Do not poison your bodies with ‘medicines’ which destroy one portion to somewhat salvage, or simply numb, another. It’s not good practice.

Harmony is a thing which must be established within oneself first and foremost. If you are not at peace with yourself, you will never bring lasting peace to others, be they family, friends, your peers, your community, etc. You must attain harmony and peace within, then within your family, then your expanding circles of influence.

Also, do not let the hostilities of others bring you down with their weight. If another is angry, their anger and their desire for harm and for vengeance is entirely their own ordeal, unless you engage it and allow it to bear upon you. So do not allow it. If another seeks to curse you, deflect their energy back upon them, for it is not yours to deal with.

Now be in peace.
